What is a MiniNature Reserve?

A MiniNature Reserve (MNR) is a native garden planted by volunteers in a parkway, school, local park, or other small area. A MiniNature Reserve Installation is the event in which we do the planting.

Where do I park?

There is parking along the streets (A st., 2nd st., and C st.). Please check all signage.

What are we doing at this event?

Under the guidance of the lead volunteer, we will be digging holes and transplanting plants to their new home.

What should I bring with me?

-Gardening gloves

-Water

-Sun Protection

MiniNature Reserve will provide spare water, snacks, orange safety vests, and tools.

What should I expect?

  • We will be outdoors for this event. The terrian is sloped and rocky.
  • Dress comfortably and be ready to get dirty!
  • Before participating, you MUST sign a waiver, you MUST wear an orange safety vest (provided), and you MUST wear gloves (provided). We will be digging holes, putting plants in the ground, working with tools, & more.
  • There are NO RESTROOMS on site. If you need a restroom, there may be a nearby business with public restrooms. 

Who is MiniNature Reserve?

MiniNature Reserve 501(c)(3) is a Gen Z-led native plant conservation and community garden nursery. Our mission is to re-establish native plants in the urban environment. We do events like workshops and educational visits for our community.

What is the age requirement for MiniNature Reserve Installations?

Participants must be at least 18 years old in order to sign a waiver.

Participants under the age of 18 are welcome with the presence of their legal guardian/parent for the duration of the event.

Are there bathrooms at this event?

There are no restrooms on site, however, neighboring businesses may have an available public restroom. We highly encourage you to support our local small businesses.

What if there is rain forecasted?

In case of ligth rain, we have a limited number of rain ponchos. Heavy rain will be cancelled.

Are there accommodations for people who need it?

Can I bring my youth organization or school group? Please contact us at info@MiniNature.org for further information. We require legal guardians/parents to sign waivers. Adult supervision is required at all times.

Can I plant my own plants in this MiniNature Reserve?

Yes, we would absolutely love that! If you would like to bring a plant to put in the ground or some seeds to spread, we will take any of the following species for this MiniNature Reserve Installation:
