About the eventÂ
In celebration of Oak Awareness Month, the MiniNature Reserve has joined other organizations to host the second annual OAKtober-a series of events for the public to join.

In this workshop led by hi ho' stoqošlóqʼ hi xus, guests will learn:
- The cultural and environmental importance of Oak trees to the Chumash peoples
- The process of preparing Acorns for consumption
- How to cook with Acorns
- Traditional methods vs newer methods & recipes
