To celebrate OakTober, we are hosting two free Oak themed workshops. This one will focus on the process of gathering acorns, sorting the good from the bad, and propagating them to grow your very own oak tree. It will be led by speakers Julia Samaniego & Karla Gonzalez Reyes.

In celebration of Oak Awareness Month, the MiniNature Reserve has joined other organizations to host the second annual OAKtober-a series of events for the public to join.

At this workshop, guests will learn:

  • The cultural and environmental importance of Oak trees
  • Learn all about how to safely and efficiently gather acorns from Oak trees. 
  • How to sort the good acorns from bad acorns
  • How to propagate oak trees from an acorn
